Florida Panthers Summer Hockey Schools - July 2008
Each summer the Florida Panthers hold hockey schools at incredible ICE. These weekly schools are geared to improve skills and participants share the ice with their NHL idols for their instruction. These structured schools teach players all aspects of the game including basic fundamentals, offensive and defensive skills, and goaltending all in a fun filled environment.
The Florida Panthers Summer Hockey Schools are offering three unique camps at incredible ICE this summer. Dates for this years camps are in July 2008.
Panthers Fundamental Hockey School
Every summer, the Panthers host their popular ice hockey school for children ages 4-17. During the on and off-ice session, each player is put through a comprehensive learning process that concentrates on developing and maintaining sound fundamentals and furthering skill development. For the off-ice instructions, each player receives an extensive dry-land conditioning program to compliment his or her hockey skills. Panthers players and staff routinely host a week of hockey school. Star Defenseman Mike Van Ryn, Panthers Alumni Bill Lindsay and Ray Sheppard were featured instructors in past schools.
This school runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., participants must be between the ages of 7 and 17.
Panthers Goalie School
The Panthers Goalie School is designed for goalie players looking to learn from NHL netminder Craig Anderson. His team of pro instructors are looking for young goalies who desire to learn more about stance & recovery, net awareness, rebounds & angles, game situations, blocker techniques, and more. Assisting will be former NHL goalie Rob Tallas.
This school runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., participants must be between the ages of 7 and 17.
NHL Development School
The NHL style development school is used to prepare and train high school age athletes for their upcoming season. For three on-ice hours and three off-ice hours each day, young athletes experience what it is like to go through a professional NHL training camp led by Panthers coaches.
This school runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and participants must be between the ages of 13 and 18.
